Traffic Court

I never even made it to the courtroom today. All that was involved in traffic court was marking "Not Guilty" and signing the summons on the back. They'll send me a new summons for a hearing in the mail in four to six weeks. At any rate, I'm prepared for them now.

Woah! You're actually going to dispute a ticket? Wow. I've never heard of anyone doing that. I'm eager to hear if you win!

A lot of people dispute their tickets in traffic court. Some of them even hire lawyers to help them with that. :-)

In New York State, a lawyer wouldn't bother appearing for the traffic court date where you showed up. You mail in a plea of Not Guilty and the Court mails you a notice for the trial date.

Sometimes lawyers can save you money AND time.
